We are delighted to share with you how joy, hope, and love was brought to more than 700 orphaned and disabled children this Christmas season. Our team created meaningful experiences that brightened their lives and reminded them of their inherent worth and value.
Christmas Party for Orphan Children
The season of giving began with a vibrant Christmas party organized for over 320 orphan children from five different children’s homes. The event was filled with activities designed to uplift and inspire the young attendees, making it a day to remember.
Singing and Performances: The celebration began with a lively time of singing and action songs, led by myself (Elsie) and the youth team. The room resonated with cheerful voices and energetic movements, setting a joyous tone for the day. The team enjoyed this session as much as the children did!
Following this, the children from each of the five homes showcased their talents through captivating performances. These moments not only entertained them but also gave the children a platform to express themselves creatively and confidently.
The Christmas Skit: A heartwarming skit about Mary and how God used her to bring hope to the world was performed. The message of the skit encouraged the children to embrace hope and aspire to become blessings to others. This culminated in an altar call, where many young ones expressed their desire to make Jesus the Lord of their lives.
Gift Distribution: Each child received a gift hamper containing chocolates, cookies, soap, coloring and activity books, color pencils, and a small utility box. In addition, teens and youth received DPM youth proclamation cards, empowering them to speak life-affirming words over their lives.
The event concluded with a heartfelt prayer by Danny, leaving everyone present with a sense of joy and spiritual fulfillment. It was a day of transformation for these children, whose lives are often filled with challenges and stress. The smiles on their faces were a testament to the happiness they experienced.
Outreach to Disabled Children
In the following week, our youth teams visited children with cerebral palsy, many of whom face severe mobility challenges. This annual visit is a cherished tradition, bringing unparalleled joy to these children and their families.
Songs, Dances, and Skits: The youth sang and danced for the children, filling the atmosphere with laughter and excitement. Short skits were performed to share the message of Christmas in a relatable and engaging manner.
Gift Hampers: Every child received a gift hamper similar to those distributed at the orphan’s party. These hampers brought not only material joy but also a sense of inclusion and care that deeply touched the children and their families.
Parents expressed immense gratitude for the effort and love shown to their children. For many, these visits are a rare occasion when their children experience joy and celebration beyond their daily struggles.
Extending the Celebration
The remaining hampers are being distributed to children of single mothers in the hills of Kerala. This effort ensures that the message and joy of Christmas reaches even more young lives, spreading hope and love to over 1,000 children this season.
A Season of Transformation
This outreach has brought color to lives that are often overshadowed by hardship. It was a blessing to us to witness the smiles, laughter, and heartfelt prayers of these children as we shared the message of Christmas—a message of hope, love, and new beginnings.
With blessings,
Elsie, Danny and the DPM-India Team
