Day 255: The Power of Discipline

Now this is Paul’s own testimony. Remember here we have the great apostle. He says, “Therefore I run thus, not with uncertainty. Thus I fight, not as one who beats the air…” I’m not like a boxer just lashing out but never landing with my blows on my opponent. I know what I’m dealing with. “But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.” Now that’s the great apostle, the writer of the epistles, and he did not take it for granted that he would finish his course in victory.
