Day 209: The Paradox

Then Jesus said to His disciples “If anyone desires to come after Me let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake, will find it.” There is nothing between the two. You can save your life, but you lose your life. Or you can lose your life, lay it down, and you’ll find another life. God doesn’t bargain. He doesn’t say, “Well, if you give up this, I’ll give you that.” He just says, “Follow Me,” that’s all.
