Day 193: The Father’s Blessing

Young people, I want you to know that, second to God’s blessing there is nothing more important in life than your father’s blessing. And even if your parents are unbelievers, do everything you can to gain their favor and have them on your side; it will make all the difference for you for the rest of your life. The fourth commandment, “Honor thy father and mother that it may be well with you and that thou mayest live long on the earth.” And I want to tell you, I am personally convinced, from Scripture and observation, that if you do not honor your father and mother, it never will be well with you. So do everything you can to get your parents on your side.
