Day 111: Being Different

Paul says we are not to be like the people of the world, the unregenerate people of the world. We are to be different. We are not to be conformed, we’re to be transformed. And he says the transformation is not going to take place from without. You notice religion always tries to change people from without. Grace changes people from within. Some of you’ve been in legalistic churches where it was all a set of external rules. You mustn’t go here, you mustn’t go there, you mustn’t do that, your dress must be a certain length, and so on and so on and so on. That’s man’s way of trying to change people. But God says, “Let me change you within and that will take care of the way you live. If I change the way you think, you’ll no longer live like the people who think like the world.”
