Day 81: Expressing Emotion

Emotions are important but they’re not primary. Man is an emotional animal and if we try to stifle and bottle up our emotions and give them no expression, we’re just living a stunted life, and it’s unnatural and the result will always be some kind of inward wound sooner or later, because what we stifle goes on working inside us but it works in a negative way. But on the other hand, man is not intended to be ruled by his emotions. The decisive factor in man that decides his destiny is the will. And your will and your emotions are not identical.
