Day 29: Will you let God choose for you? (Final)

Yesterday we saw that we should only receive what God gives us, our inheritance. We must not choose and grab for whatever we want, we can receive the inheritance that God chose for us. His choice for us is the best. Then we will come to rest.

These are the words of Jesus from the Sermon on the Mount: “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5). Can you under-stand that? They do not have to grab the earth; they are going to inherit it. The grabbers will be done away with. There will be an end to all the grabbers—the greedy, the unscrupulous, the covetous, the violent, and the wicked. The Bible says they will be no more. You will search for the wicked man, and you will not even find his place. However, the meek will inherit the earth. It is so important to learn to let God choose our in-heritance for us and to understand that what the Father has given is greater than all.

Let me close this series on “If you want God’s best” with a quotation that I once heard: “God gives His best to those who leave the choice to Him.” Are you willing to leave the choice to your Father?

To summarize, I will list the things you must do if you want God’s best:

  1. Want God’s best. Do not settle for less.
  2. Focus on Jesus.
  3. Meditate on God’s Word.
  4. Make friends with the Holy Spirit.
  5. Hear and promptly obey God’s voice.
  6. Be careful how and what you hear.
  7. Be more concerned with the eternal than the temporary. Make sure your priorities are right.
  8. Let God choose for you.

Prayer Response

Father, thank you for choosing the best for me. Therefore, I want to leave my choices to you. Please help me not to lose heart, but to pursue what you have for me and to bear hundredfold fruit. Amen!
