Proclamation

This is what the Lord says: “The people who survive the sword will find favour in the desert. I will come to give rest to Israel.” The Lord appeared to us in the past saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love, I have drawn you with loving-kindness. I will build you up again and you will be rebuilt, O Virgin Israel.”1

“I will strengthen the house of Judah. I will restore them because I have compassion on them. They will be as though I had not rejected them, for I am the Lord their God, and I will answer them. I will signal for them and gather them in, surely I will redeem them.”2

“I wiII bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north: ‘Give them up!’ and to the south: ‘Do not hold them back.’ Bring My sons from afar and My daughters from the ends of the earth.”3

They will return from the land of the enemy. So there is hope for their future, their children will return to their own land.4

“I will bring back My exiled people to Israel,” says the Lord my God.5

Scripture

“This is what the Lord says: ‘The people who survive the sword will find favor in the wilderness; I will come to give rest to Israel.’ The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. I will build you up again, and you, Virgin Israel, will be rebuilt. Again you will take up your timbrels and go out to dance with the joyful.’” (Jeremiah 31:2-4, NIV)
“I will strengthen Judah and save the tribes of Joseph. I will restore them because I have compassion on them. They will be as though I had not rejected them, for I am the Lord their God and I will answer them.... I will signal for them and gather them in. Surely I will redeem them; they will be as numerous as before.” (Zechariah 10:6,8, NIV)
“Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’ Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth...” (Isaiah 43:5-6, NIV)
“This is what the Lord says: ‘Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded,’ declares the Lord. ‘They will return from the land of the enemy. So there is hope for your descendants,’ declares the Lord. ‘Your children will return to their own land.’” (Jeremiah 31:16-17, NIV)
“...and I will bring my people Israel back from exile. ‘They will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them. They will plant vineyards and drink their wine; they will make gardens and eat their fruit. I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them,’ says the Lord your God.” (Amos 9:14-15, NIV)
